My wife has thick black long hair below her hips. For her hair trimming to a smart length above her waist I plan to take her to a local barbershop as the cut is simple and going to barbershop will cost me much less than to a beauty parlour. Is it ok to get her hair trimmed at a barbershop.

OMG NO... take her to a dang salon!! Barbers don't know how to cut women's hair. They don't take their time or cut stylish styles. Really, it isn't that much more to take her to a salon. Seriously? She has thick hair... there is so much a girl could do with it. If you were my husband... that would seriously hurt my feelings. I mean, I am not rich, I am probably below the poverty level, but even my husband understands a women's need to feel appreciated. If you want a actual cheap way... go to a college that offers cosmetology, and many students that are great with cutting hair would do it for half the cost. Women deserve to be pampered... you might get lucky if you treat her like a lady!!

Yes, why not. Infact when we got married, my wife has hair a little longer than her waist. Once I visited my regular barber for a sunday afternoon shave when she accompanied me. After my shave I jokingly asked her whether she wants a trim. The barber being known to me also suggested that she should go for a above waist length cut. She readily agreed and the barber gave her a 3 inch nice trim which looked very smart. Since then she regularly visits the guy after every 3 months for a trim.
